Tasmania has over 5000 km’s of coastline and is one of the most biologically diverse marine environments in the world, with many species unique to the region.
The cool temperate waters support an abundance of fish species, which in turn support populations of sea birds and larger marine mammals including seals, dolphins and seasonally migrating whales.
Wineglass Bay Cruises is committed to the conservation of this extraordinary environment by monitoring threatened and endangered wildlife. On each cruise, wildlife sightings are recorded for addition to our database. Every few months records are sent to the Tasmanian Nature Conservation Branch to assist the monitoring of marine mammals and birdlife.
We offer all our passengers the opportunity to be a part of this important work by inviting you to contribute your sightings to this ongoing study.
